Great review but you got to test the Cordova! Definitely top tier
@andrewd8397 hey there! Hopefully next time we'll be able to include Cordova! Thanks for watching!
Trying to decide on the full zip or the hoody. I bow hunt whitetail primarily, but also elk archery, so trying to decide which one might be best for hiking, and able to take on and off quickly, yet warm enough when stationary. Thanks for the reviews.
@toddshumaker2715 you bet! Yeah, both are great...the full zip.is nicer for taking off and on though. I do like having the hood as well. Thanks for watching!
How do these compare with MDT CKYE-POD LIGHTWEIGHT besides weight?
@jasonbellows7 hey Jason! I haven't tried the MDT, so I can't say for sure. Sorry but thanks for watching!
The air temperature anomaly on the "OH-Ryan" (phonetic) cooler is curious. Did you contact Orion about it? I can't help but wonder if there was a bad air seal - nothing else (other than measurement error) seems to make sense.
@jimrice4699 hey there! Yeah, I realized I was pronouncing it wrong after it was filmed...sorry! It was super curious. Could have been a bad seal, not sure. But, all of them were tested equally as best we could. Thanks for watching!
Great review, Billy! I have a pair of Underdog Shooting Glasses, the yellow lens version, and I LOVE these things because I wear prescription eye glasses, so having a pair of these that easily flip down in front of my prescription glasses is a God-send! These Underdogs saved me from having to purchase prescription shooting glasses! Another great aspect here is that because they are clipped to the brim of my hat, I NEVER lose them! I've lost several pair of expensive sunglasses when I've taken them off my head, laid them down, and forgot about them. But, I've never lost a hat! So with these glasses attached to my hat, I know I'll never lose them!
@@richardhoffarth1771 thanks Richard! They are great!

Have you tested Nikon Monarch M7?
@sourabhgoel5929 hey there! I haven't gotten the chance to test those yet unfortunately. Thanks for watching!
I purchased the magview system and found it easy to install but not user friendly. It took way to long to align the camera and I didn't like the fact the metal plate kills your wireless charging option, unless you purchase the wireless charging plate. I returned the Magview the and ordered the Ollin system, which my son runs on his spotter.

Great video!! Thank you for sharing your setup with us. The zip ties are a great idea. I also love the aiders you built. Everyone has their preferences on climbing and this way is yours. I am new to saddle hunting this year and my way to climb is probably different than everyone else as well. Keep up the great work and good luck this season!!!
@SteveOpg22 thank you and absolutely! Lots of ways to do it. Thanks for watching!
Hey Brother greetings from Iowa! Im new to saddle hunting. With the 4 sticks how high are you getting? Thanks for the Video. Helped alot. 😁
Great video, I have a Yukon moose hunt coming up and was looking at using either the day six or Valkyrie heads.
@grantmyers4703 that's awesome! What a cool hunt. Best of luck and happy hunting! Thanks for watching!
Definitely liking the method of climbing with the tether… You don’t have to switch ropes at the top, and as the bark tears up your rope you only have to buy one rope to replace your set up… I run latitude outdoors method 2 saddle, it’s metal free and if not the most comfortable on the market, it’s top two… TX5 i’ve heard is the most comfortable and they have joined forces with latitude so I imagine good things are coming. I also just picked up Lonewolf custom gear “the fix” saddle platform. With the upward cam technology, wow, does it bite the tree HARD. Can’t bring myself to attach anything to the tree with Amsteel, I love a good cam buckle. I recently saw a hack where you cut a yak grip in half and slide it over the buckle. Totally silent and the button still works as should. Your set up is a touch noisy, but for $30 worth of stealth strips, I’ve been able to tape everything I needed to! Thanks for the tips man, I’ll be subscribing and liking your videos!
I also run beast sticks, they grip the weirdest trees rock solid, but the packability sucks… It’s a sacrifice I guess because they stand off the tree more than any other stick. Quite comfortable actually. When my Lonewolf backpack straps arrived, I’m going to attach them to the saddle platform and try and tie everything up to it. 😂
Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for watching!
That's great! Thanks! Depending on where you are hunting, packability may or may not be a huge deal, but there is usually a tradeoff, right!
Everyone does it a little different. It’s just the way I like to do it. Some say there’s a concern of smashing fingers if you fall but so far I haven’t had any issues. Just something to think about. Amsteal honestly is much stronger and less forgiving than a traditional cam buckle. But, just do what you are comfortable with. Thanks for the comments!
Received my phone Skope last week and was a little disappointed. Clip and scope adapter didn’t fit properly, and once I was able to lock it in it was super tight. Tried to lock and unlock hoping the plastic would wear down a bit and didn’t help either. I tried calling them numerous time and no answer until today. They are sending me a new clip and adapter but sadly I place an order in Ollin since they have a 25% off and made a return claim on the phone Skope yesterday.
@csanc282 sorry to hear that! Let me know how you like that Ollin! Thanks for watching!

I have a 8x42 NL Pure and a Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25. I want a 10 or 12. What do you think 10x30/32 (SFL or NL) Or and 12x42 NL Pure?
@s.d.r1062 hey there! Great question. I was actually able to put the 10x30 SFL next to the 10x32 NL, and other than FOV and edge to edge clarity, I preferred the SFL. Both are fantastic though. I've heard Great things about the 12x42 as well if you want some extra light gathering in the 42mm objective. Thanks for watching!
@@BackwoodsPursuit Isnt the 10 x30 too close to a 8x25 and 8x42? Or do you think its a good extra option?
@s.d.r1062 I guess that depends on what you are using them for. Out west here I typically like a 10x bino for general use, but I'm big country the 12x is very nice as well.
@@BackwoodsPursuit Thanks for answering. Big country? You mean mountain area? I live in the Netherlands. Flat land I use 8x42 as my main bino because i live in a forest area and love the spot deer and birds in evenings. But maybe i can use a 10 or 12 power when i am at coast or lake area. But 12 maybe too much.... I will check in in shop one day.
@@BackwoodsPursuit wy do you prefer the 10x30 SFL over the 10x32 NL?
Hi, i have the NL Pure 8x42. And Zeiss Victory Pocket 8x25. I want to add an extra mag. Do you recommend a 10x30 (or 32) or is that not logic? Or a 12x42 NL?
Hey there! Either of those are fantastic. Surprisingly thought, my eyes preferred the SFL 10x30s over the NL 10x32. The NLs are better in edge to edge as well as offer a larger FOV, but otherwise the price point and other optical performance features went to the SFL. Thanks for watching!
@@BackwoodsPursuit thanks for answering and you are lucky to be able to test all those great toys. Keep up the good work 👍
@s.d.r1062 absolutely! Yeah, certainly blessed to get the opportunity to test this awesome gear out!
Why use your floater pin at 60 yards if you only have 4 pins. If you run your pins 20, 30, 40 and 50 you can’t use your bottom pin as your floater at 60 correct? I’m assuming your pin setting is 30,40,50 and 60 right? After doing this, then you have to sight in your pins independently correct?
@mansalaija hey there! If the bottom pin is the floater, whatever that bottom pin represents (60yds for mine) is where you would align the red arrow with your tape. If 50yds is your bottom pin align the red arrow with 50yds on the tape when you install the tape. My setup is 27, 40, 50, 60, so my bottom pin is set for 60yds. Thanks for watching!
Nice review bro. Got question... Does the Jetstream give any warmth? Like the same a sweater or cotton hoodie or a shirt?
@LeoParsi11 hey there! The Jetstream gives a little warmth, but not a lot. It's best used as an outer shell that'll protect from wind, some rain, and snow. Thanks for watching!
Anyone watching this please DO NOT climb with your tree tether like this this season. Why because if you fall or slip with your fingers between the rope and tree that thing is gonna cinch down on your fingers so hard may break a couple finger like that. Mistakes happens out there. Be safe guys
@@dajahvue thanks for the insight and safety tip!
I appreciate your opinion and thanks for you comment.
You could climb like this but just use some sort of tether handles. Your concern is very valid and was the first thing I thought of. When you are sitting in your saddle with full weight on your tether and your fingers are caught between the tether and tree it’s going to be a very bad day. Tether handles will keep your fingers out of harms way though.
@chaddewitt2836 thanks for the thoughts and insight!

Worth triple the price of a BOG tripod? This is a legitimate question, I have used a bog tripod and was impressed at the stability even with the lack of a ball head. Using the legs to level your rifle instead of the ball head is the only difference I can see. So I'm just left scratching my head wondering if the extra 200-350 dollars really worth it

Why are you banging your binoculars on the table ? Not yours ?
Hey there! Not quite sure what you are meaning there as I felt like I was setting them on the table. The mic may have been picking up a bit extra and making it sound worse than it was? Thanks for watching either way though!
No mention of correcting for atmospherics? The rifle should have come with a calibration sheet telling you what the temperature and pressure was when the gun was zeroed. If you didn’t adjust to your local conditions, that could explain your 1 moa offset ?
@stevewort hey there! Thanks for checking on that! Yeah, atmospheric conditions were closed to the ballistic turret/ preset zero, but not identical. That explains a little of the 1 MOA difference, but not all of it. Thanks for watching!

@ninhphamily9918 yeah, Rugged Road has a different naming convention...their "85" is referring to cans rather than quarts. Thanks for watching!
Где фото через бинокли? Где видео через окуляры биноклей? Пустой трёп.
Thanks for the feedback. Photos and video are certainly helpful, but it is difficult to accurately show differences while digiscoping, as well as cover this many binoculars very well. Thanks for watching though.
It would be cool to see a comparison between 85mm spotters vs 65 vs 50. I can only afford one, and as a hunter / backpacker, we all have to make the tough choice between weight and image quality for glassing. It would be nice to see what you gain by packing the extra weight of the 85 (which also requires a heavier tripod) vs how affective a 50 would be at the same task. For example, maybe a compact swaro will outperform a full size vortex. Sometimes its actually more valuable to compare apples to oranges.
@elkhuntr2816 thanks for the suggestion! I think that's a great idea...it's on my list of projects now! Thanks for watching!
I carried a Meopta Meostar 20-70x 82mm scope while accompanying a buddy on his scouting & hunting trips for mountain goat. Between that and the tripod, it was a lot to pack. The huge glass and the angled design are great once you’re set up and glassing, but when carrying it, it would be much nicer to have something smaller with a straight body. Not to mention a smaller scope with a straight body works great on an auto window mount. Not trying to state the obvious here, but many (most?) of us are more likely to pack something smaller, and the scope you have is better than the scope you left at home.
@jasonf.4107 that's very true! Weight adds up fast and any time you can get great performance for less weight it's worth looking at. Thanks for watching!
@@BackwoodsPursuitthanks for the review - thinking of saving up my Cabela’s points to get the straight body version of that Swarovski. What would you recommend for a lightweight, low tripod? I will only use it while sitting, so I don’t need anything that extends to standing height. Thanks!
@jasonf.4107 that would be great way to use points! As for an ultralight tripod, this one's is about as light as I've found, while still being super solid: ua-cam.com/video/Z10PIdgV5Po/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Also make you a USA rope mod for your platform so you can ditch that damn strap. Hell if you want just let me know and I'll even send one to your po box
Thanks for the suggestions!
The way you climb you need to one stick. Its so much better and you already use the climbing technique
@mikeguy9668 thanks for the tip and thanks for watching!
I’ve thought about I’m just getting to old lol!
